A fire can cause extensive damage to a landscaping. Whether the equipment becomes damaged, debris or ash fall into the water, or the yard and adjacent areas are destroyed, a fire can be a major headache for homeowners with landscapings. Landscaping Inspection Services was called out recently to inspect a landscaping in Riverside that had after the insured stated that ash had fallen into the pool form a nearby highway fire.
Pool Inspection Observations
During the course of the inspection, our inspector made the following observations:
- The pool interior was free from stains and markings.
- The pool equipment was tested and found to be in good working order.
Analysis of Damage in Riverside, CA Pool
In extreme cases, ash or debris entering a pool can require an acid wash to remove, or even require that the pool in question is replastered. However, if the pool filter and pump are working properly, a small amount of ash entering the pool should not cause extensive damage. With a normal running filter cycle, any ash that falls into the pool water should be cleaned out within 24 hours. In this instance, the pool did not appear to have any damage from ash or soot remaining in the pool.
Cause of Loss in Riverside Pool Inspection
After a thorough inspection of the Riverside pool and surrounding areas, our inspector determined that this pool did not sustain any damage from the nearby highway fire. At most, the pool needed a one-time professional cleaning, and for the equipment to be kept running properly. Our inspector determined that with no damage present, the homeowner’s insurance claim regarding the pool was invalid, as no damage had been sustained.
