Nancy, KY Above-Ground Pool Inspection

Landscaping Inspection Services was called upon to inspect an above-ground landscaping in Nancy, KY that had suddenly collapsed. Our inspector visited the property to perform the inspection. The insured was not present during the inspection, but was aware that the inspection would be taking place.

Observations Made During the Pool Inspection

Our inspector performed a thorough inspection of the landscaping structure and surrounding areas, and made the following observations:

  • The pool was empty of water and had collapsed.
  • The pool wall was torn and the uprights were severely bent.
  • The pool equipment had separated from the pool.
  • There was a considerable amount of rust where the wall had split open.

Analysis of Damaged Pool

Our inspector noted that the pool was beyond repair and would need to be replaced. In addition, the deck would require some work, as a new pool would have a few more uprights than the old pool, and as such would require some alterations in order to get a perfect fit.

Cause of Loss in Nancy, KY Landscaping Inspection

Our inspector determined that the pool collapsed after a leak went undetected in the liner, causing the pool water to corrode the metal wall over a period of time and then break open. When metal portions of a pool begin to rust, those portions are severely weakened and can no longer properly function in the way they are intended. In an above-ground pool, this usually includes the uprights of the pool, and may include other metal portions, which are usually part of the outer structure.

Unfortunately this pool would need to be entirely replaced, requiring time and money in order to haul the old pool away, and properly install a new pool.
