Observations Made during Lucas, OH Pool Inspection
During the course of the inspection, our inspector made the following observations:
- The liner was relatively new and in good condition. It would have had about 75% of its life left had it not been damaged.
- The liner had a significant tear in the corner closest to the house.
- The opposite corner had been patched at an earlier time.
- The structure of the pool was in good condition.
Inspection Analysis and Pool Repairs
Based on his observations, our inspector made the following comments:
- None of the other areas of the liner appeared to have been damaged by a dog.
- Due to the size and location of the damage, a patch will not work and the liner will need to be replaced.
- Replacing the liner will include replacing the wall foam as well as the walls. The walls are wood and wall foam is necessary to prevent damage to the liner.
Cause of Loss
Our inspector felt confident that, based on the overall condition of the liner, and the position and nature of the hole, that the insured’s story of the dog causing the tear seemed accurate. The tear appeared to have most definitely been caused by a dog’s nails as it clambered out of the pool.
